Toshiba TVs are some of the highest specification TVs in the industry. The REGZA series is a LCD product range that vary from 15" up to 47". The REGZA has won them many awards for various innovations that they have incorporated into the TV, a few of which I will discuss.
Without a component called the Meta Brain the TV would not be able to function. The Meta Brain is similar to the processor inside a computer it co-ordinates all of the other functions and performs the calculations necessary for them to be completed smoothly, quickly and efficiently. As this is such a specialized piece of the TV Toshiba have designed it in-house which has meant the chip has been designed to a very high and specific specification.
The graphics card part of the TV so to speak is called Active Vision II, it performs graphic filters on the picture which help to enhance the picture in four different areas, such as color, contrast, etc. This feature of the TV has won many awards for the quality of picture that it is able to produce when compared to an unchanged image.
The next unique feature that Toshiba has developed is called Motion flow, a standard TV produces a frame rate of 100Hz this means that in second of program watching 100 individual pictures are displayed on the screen, whereas the Toshiba has a frame rate of 200Hz meaning 200 frames are displayed in the same time. The effect of this is that action scenes appear smoother and more defined.
The gap between SD and HD feeds is noticeably large and as such Toshiba have designed a function called Motion flow, this improves the quality of the SD feed to such that it is comparable to that of HD. Auto view enables the TV to adjust itself to allow for changes within the room with regards to light intensity to ensure viewing is always comfortable
The Toshiba also houses an eco panel within it not only saving money but saving on CO2 emissions as well so you can sleep doubly easily. The REGZA series is a perfect example as to why Toshiba are regarded in the industry as being an innovator and as such one of the best manufacturers in the world
The Toshiba's in this series vary slightly in their design depending on the screen size but a common pattern is followed and the results are excellent the TV looks good whether it is on or off.
